A therapist who utilizes hypnosis as a primary tool for assisting clients to achieve their goals. A Hypnotherapist often differs from others therapists by focusing on the role of subconscious behaviors and influences on the client's life.
In essence, a Hypnotherapist is a Life Coach skilled with the power of Hypnosis.
It is important for you to choose a well-trained Hypnotherapist. Do not hesitate to ask where the Hypnotherapist attended school. Was it a college or a weekend class? This information could be a critical factor in the results you may have in hypnosis sessions.
As for myself, I am proud to say that I graduated from the Hypnosis Motivation Institute, a highly accredited college in the United States. Not only am I a graduate, I continued on to complete the AOS Mind/Body Psychology program and am now a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist and Therapeutic Imagery Facilitator.

Hypnosis is a completely natural state—one that you’ve already experienced many times in your life.
Think about when you’re driving and suddenly realize you don’t remember the last few miles… or when you get lost in a movie, a book, or even your own thoughts. That drifting, focused, almost in-between state—that’s hypnosis.
It’s not sleep, and it’s not full wakefulness. It’s something in between. A calm, focused state where your mind becomes more open, more aware, and more receptive.
In this state, you can still hear what’s going on around you… but at the same time, you feel deeply relaxed—almost like you’re somewhere else. Time can feel different. Your body softens. Your mind quiets.
This is where real change begins.
Hypnosis is simply a focused state of concentration where your imagination becomes more vivid and your subconscious mind becomes more open to positive suggestions. And that’s important—because your subconscious mind is where your habits, patterns, and emotional responses live.
When we work together, your experience isn’t random or scripted. It’s designed specifically for you—based on what you need, what you’ve been through, and where you want to go.
The first session is 90 minutes as it is a comprehensive intake designed to understand your goals, background, and the patterns you’re ready to change.
We begin with a conversation to explore what’s been going on, what you’d like to improve, and how your thoughts, habits, and responses may be connected. This allows us to create a clear, personalized approach moving forward.
You will then be guided into a relaxed, focused state using hypnosis and/or guided imagery, where we begin working with the subconscious mind to support change.
This session is both exploratory and therapeutic, giving you the opportunity to gain insight, experience hypnosis, and begin shifting patterns in a safe, supportive environment.
The following sessions are for one hour.
During the first session, I get to know you and how you think. We discuss what you would like to work on and how to get results quickly and effectively. You will remain aware and in control throughout the entire session.
Hypnosis is a natural, relaxed state—similar to when you’re deeply focused or just drifting off to sleep. You cannot be made to do anything against your will, and you are free to speak, move, or stop the session at any time.
Most clients find the experience deeply relaxing and often wish they could stay in that state longer.
The guided hypnosis portion of the session typically lasts around 20 minutes, depending on your goals and the flow of the session.
You will know as the session progresses. Typically you would want at least two or three. It could be one or ten. A Hypnotherapist can never really tell you the exact amount of sessions. Only you will know the answer. It also depends on how many things you want to work on.
Whether it’s building up self-confidence, losing weight, stopping smoking, getting past fears and phobias, or easing depression and anxiety, etc, …if you have the desire to change, I believe you can. It is choosing to make the commitment and taking the right steps for the change you desire to occur.
Absolutely! Phone or Zoom sessions are highly effective just like you are in my office. I have clients across the world who love their phone/Zoom sessions. First, we discuss what you want to work on for approximately 40 minutes. Once we hang up, I record the session and send you the file within the hour.
Preparing for your session is simple. The goal is to create a space where you can relax without distractions and be fully present.
For virtual sessions, it’s helpful to have your device positioned so I can clearly see your head and shoulders while you’re seated, and still have a comfortable place to fully relax once the session begins.
Many clients like to begin seated and then transition to a more relaxed position, such as a recliner, couch, or bed with proper head and neck support.
If possible:
You don’t need to prepare anything specific—just come with a general idea of what you’d like to work on and an openness to the process.
There’s nothing you need to “do right.” Simply allowing yourself to relax and follow along is enough.
After your session, it’s common to feel deeply relaxed, calm, or more clear-headed. Some people notice immediate shifts, while others experience more subtle changes that continue to develop over the following days.
You may find that your thoughts, reactions, or awareness begin to shift in a more supportive direction. This is a normal part of the process as your mind integrates the work we’ve done.
You will receive a personalized recording of the hypnosis portion to support continued progress.
Listening to this recording throughout the week helps reinforce the work from your session and allows your mind to continue building on those changes in a relaxed, familiar way.
For best results:
Change doesn’t always happen all at once—it often unfolds naturally over time.
Everyone’s experience is different. Some people notice immediate results, while others see changes build gradually with continued sessions and reinforcement.

Hypnotherapy is a complementary approach and is not a substitute for medical, psychological, or psychiatric care. Results vary from person to person and may take multiple sessions depending on individual goals.
A lot of people wonder if they can be hypnotized.
The truth is—you already go into hypnotic states every single day.
So it’s not about if you can be hypnotized… it’s about whether you’re ready and willing to use it as a tool for change.
Hypnosis is what I like to call a consent state.
You can’t be made to do anything you don’t want to do. You are aware, in control, and able to come out of it at any time. In fact, all hypnosis is really self-hypnosis—I’m simply guiding you.
